O ct 2 00 1 A New Measurement of the Ξ + c Lifetime

چکیده

A precise determination of the charm-strange baryon Ξc lifetime is presented. The data were accumulated by the Fermilab high-energy photoproduction experiment FOCUS. The measurement is made with 300 Ξc → Ξ −π+π+ decays, 130 Ξc → Σ+K−π+ decays, 45 Ξc → pK −π+ decays and 58 Ξc → Λ 0K−π+π+ decays. The Ξc lifetime is measured to be 0.439±0.022±0.009 ps.

x / 02 06 06 9 v 1 2 7 Ju n 20 02 A new measurement of the Ξ 0 c lifetime

Using data collected by the Fermilab experiment FOCUS, we measure the lifetime of the charmed baryon Ξc using the decay channels Ξ o c → Ξ π and Ξc → Ω K. From a combined sample of 110 ± 17 events we find τ(Ξc) = 118 +14 − 12 ± 5 fs, where the first and second errors are statistical and systematic, respectively.

We present a measurement of the KL lifetime using the KLOE detector. From a sample of ∼ 4 × 10 KSKL pairs following the reaction ee → φ → KSKL we select ∼ 15 × 10 KL → πππ decays tagged by KS → ππ events.
